Abstract
Five eases of supracondylar wedge osteotomy of the humerus following fractures of the elbow are presented. All the cases had the changes in the carrying angle of 24 to 55 degrees as compared to the normal side.
A closed wedge osteotomy was performed at the supracondylar level and was fixed with two Kirschner wires. Full correction ranging from 24 to 55 degrees was obtained, while in two cases there were over-correction of three and five degrees, respectively.
Surgical technique of insuring correction from displacement, tilting, and rotational deformity of the distal fragment is discussed.
