Kim, Park, Lee, and Ihin: The Operative Treatment of Late Complicated Osgood-Schlatter Disease in the Army

Abstract

10 cases (14 knees) of late complicated Osgood-Schlatter disease were treated surgically in the Daegu Military Hospital.
The surgical procedures used consisted in 1) removal of loose fragments, 6 cases(8 knees), 2) complete superiosteal excision of tubercle with removal of fragment, 4 cases (6 knees) (Table 1).
Surgical approch had been successful with respect to relieving the symptoms but we still had in most instance the objectionable knob-like deformity on the knee after removal of fragment.
