Kim, Choi, Lee, Yoon, and Lim: Compression of the tracheoesophageal tree by double aortic arch anomalies

Abstract

Double aortic arch anomalies are resulted from persistent right and left fourth aortic arches, and dorsal aortic roots. This is a rather frequent cause of respiatory distress and dysphagia in the infant or small children due to compression of the tracheoesophageal tree by vascular rings or by anomalous innominate arteries of congenital cardiovascular anomalies.
