Abstract
Mesenchymal harmatoma of the liver is a rare benign tumor of childhood which has been confused with variousother benign liver lesions, particulary vascular harmatoma which are mesodermal but not mesenchymal. Patients withthis tumor are usually asymptomatic and present with abdominal distention and a palpable abdominal mass. Most ofthe tumors are in the right lobe of the liver or attached by a stalk to it. Liver function test is rarelyabnormal. Treatment is surgical removal and the prognosis is good. Malignant changes or recurrence after removalare not reported.
