Choi and Ra: Intravenous pyelographic analysis of ureteral calculi

Abstract

This study showed the cutcome of the intravenous pyelogram performed on 54 cases of ureteral stone treated atKyungpook National University Hospital. Two-thirds of the 54 cases were male and the majority of the subjectsbelonged to the age group, 20-40. The predominant location was found to be single, in most cases unilatera, and 41cases were located lower one-third of ureter. Through the inravenous pyelogram, the stasis of urine above thestone proved to be hydronephrosis and hydroureter. The above phenomena were clearer when the size of the stone wasmore than 0.5cm. Renal atrophy used did not show up due to the ureteral stone.
