Abstract
The authors have treated neglected CDHs quite successfully in older age group of children; ten hips from eight patients between 4 and 11 years of age. Their postoperative results at 2 year and 10 month followup in average were generally satisfactory being distributed according to Gibson and Benson’s modification of Severin’s classification as one patient in clinical group 1 and X-ray grade I, five patients in clinical group 2 and X-ray grade II, one patient in clinical group 3 and X-ray grade II and one patient in clinical group 3 and X-ray grade Ill. The surgical regimen for these patients was consisted routinely of open reduction, Salter's Innominate osteotomy and concurrent shortening of femur at subtrochanteric level, the last component of which seemed to have done essential role in making the results totally possible.
