Abstract
The traditional treatment for the femoral shaft fractures in children is closed reduction by contnuous traction followed by spica cast immobilization. We experienced 27 cases of femoral shaft fractures in children. Among these, 15 cases were treated by spica cast after traction (Group I ) and 12 cases were treated by intramedullary nailing after closed reduction (Group II ). By comparison of clinical results on both treatment group, there was no the significant clinical difference in both group but the early ambulation and good results was obtained in group III. So, we report our experience in conservative treatment group and intramedullary nailing group after closed reduction.
