Hahn and Jeon: Reconstruction of Lower Extremity with Microsurgical Technique

Abstract

One hundred and sixity patients had reconstructive surgery of lower extremity with microsurgical technique at department of orthopedic surgery Yonsei universtiy college of medicine from 1982 to 1989. 1. There were ninety-six cases in men and sixty-four cases in women who had a mean age of 23.8 years. There patients were followed for an 21.4 months. 2. The causes were traffic accident 114, tumor 18, machiery injury 12, burn 5, explosive injury 2, and others in 9. 3. There were 55 cases in scapular flap, 35 cases in groin flap, 23 cases in free vascularized osteocutaneous flap, 18 cases in parascapular flap, 9 cases in combined scapular and latissimus dorsi falp, and 8 cases in segmental resection and rotationplasty. One hundred thirty-four cases were successful in reconstructive surgery with microsurgical technique, and function and consmetic appearance were excellent.
