Abstract
Fractures of the patella constitute about 1% of all skeletal injuries and frequently encountered in orthopedic practice. Because severe pain, swelling, and/or weakness of the extensor mechanism develop at the time of injury, all patients seek for treatment as soon as possible. Neglected patellar fracture is very rare in literature. The problems of our cases were wide separations of the fracture fragments that made it difficult to approximate each other. One case was treated in the same way that McLaughlin treated ruptured patellar tendon. Near anatomical reduction was possible in another case.
