Cho, Kwak, Cho, and Ryoo: Transient Monoplegia after Removal of Pedicle Screw: A Case Report

Abstract

Traumatic pneumomyelogram is very rare in literature and there has been no report of paraplegia associated with pneumomyelogram, occurring after removal of an incorrectly seated pedicle screw. We are presenting a rare case of transient monoplegia associated with pneumomyelogram, developed after removal of a mis-inserted pedicle screw into Ll veretebral canal in a 37-year-old male who had been treated with CD spinal instrumentation for two seperated level-lumbar fractures without neurologic deficit.
