Abstract
The authors have performed the operations for the restoration of elbow flexion in a case of injured brachial plexus and the other case of injured biceps brachii muscle using to the throracodorsal nerve and latissimus dorsi muscle respectively. Before the operation had been taken, two patients have not been able to do active flexion of the affected elbows. One year to thirty one months after operations, a active range of motion of elbow joint in the case of thoracodorsal nerve transferring to musculocutaneous nerve and the other case of latissimus dorsi muscle transferring to biceps brachii tendon was obtained 5°/110°and 0°/120°respectively and they were able to move the affected hand to mouth. This flexoplasty using to the latissimus dorsi muscle and transference of thoracodorsal nerve to musculocutaneous nerve in old traumatic injury were one of the best methods of restoring the flexion of elbow joint according to the nerve or muscle damage.
