Abstract
Two cases of giant cell tumor of the cervical spine are reported. All involved teen-aged persons. Computed tomography is the imaging method of choice for defining the extent of tumor because it can show bone involvement, spinal canal encroachment, and soft-tissue extension. Current treatment consists of surgical extirpation, spinal arthrodesis and postoperative radiation therapy. The excisional margin was only intralesional or marginal by Enneking's criteria. Though the follow-up period (8 to 14 months) was short, the spinal fusion was solid, and there was no evidence of local recurrence in follow-up C-T scan.
