The aim was to assess the incidence, causes, associated injury and results of the treatment by clinical and radiological examination and to discover the prognosis according to the various factors. The results of this study are as follows 1. There is a predisposition for male and there is no age predisposition in occurrence. 2. Majority of the cause of the injury was traffic accident (82%).
3. Isolated fracture of the intercondylar eminence of the tibia was 10(22%) cases. 4. By Meyers and McKeever's classification, type III was most common 18(40%), type II was 14(32%) cases and type I was 13(28%) cases. 5. Conservative treatment in type I, II and open reduction and internal fixation in type III resulted in good result. 6. In conservative treatment, result from immobilized knee in flexed position were similar to those of knees immobilized in extended position. 7. In type III fracture, result was good with proper reduction and immobilization without surgery in spite of mild anterior laxity.
