Abstract

Pyogenic spinal epidural abscess is an uncommon disease which is involved in the epidural space of the spine. The proximity of the infection site to the spinal cord predicts a possible devastating consequences and irreversible paralysis or death is the usual outcome in the early reports. However, the possibility of prevention neurologic damage or even of reversing paralysis in short period by prompt diagnosis and surgical intervention was recognized soon and remains as a choice of treament. We experienced a case of epicural abscess which was hard tomake diagnosis, but the result was good in it's treatment by doing early surgical exploration.
