Any tumor that may arise in extremities may also occur in the hand. For the period of 5 years from March, 1986 to Febrary, 1991, we reviewed 78 cases who had the soft tissue tumors of the hand and were treated surgically. The results were as follows; 1. Among 78 cases, most common soft tissue tumor of the hand was ganglion (27 cases, 34.6%). 2. There were 26 males and 52 females. The peak age was 3rd decade. 3. The tumor occured 30 cases in the wrist, 27 cases in metacarpal area, and 21 cases in fingers. 4. The tumors were treated almost by marginal excision but one case was treated by wide excision and other two cases were treated by radical excision.
