The most common benign soft tissue tumor was lipoma (51.2%) followed by schwannoma (16.6%), neurofibroma (9.4%) and hemangioma (8.6%) in decreasing order of incidence. Among the malignant group, rhabdomyosarcoma was the most common (28.5%) and fibro sarcoma (17.8%), malignant fibrous histiocytoma (17.0%) and liposarcoma (15.2%) were next common group. 3. In benign tumor, female was affected about 1.42 times more common. But in malignant tumor, male was more affected 2,3 times. 4. There was no predilection site in benign tumor, but in malignant tumor, the lower extremity was the predominant site of occurrence. 5. The distant metastasis occurred in 42 cases (37.5%) of 112 malignant tumor and the lung (54.8%) was the most frequent site of metastasis. 6. The local recurrence of benign tumor occured in 26 (7.2%) among 361 cases. 7.
