Theoretically total hip replacement can be used for femur neck fracture in amputee. However, total hip replacements, followed by lower limb amputation in the patients who have severe crushing injury of the limp and ipsilateral hip injury, have never been reported. We experienced two patients who received total hip replacement followed by lower limb amputations, due to severe crushing injury of the limb and ipsilateral hip traumas.
