Abstract
This study was performed to provide reference data for the healthcare organizations (including health centers) which are now operating or planning to introduce a computerized system. A questionnaire survey on the knowledge, attitude, and practice on computerization was conducted during the period of 1996. 12.2-12.14. A total of 321 employee working in healthcare organizations responded to the questionnaire. The results are as follow; 1. Age distribution of the respondents shows that 46.1% are in 30s and 37.7% in 20s. In terms of sex, 58.6% are female. 2. The respondents, on average, are equipped with highly advanced computer hardware(486 CPU), although more than 50% of them have no educational background on computer. 3. The respondents' scores were generally high in the questions regarding their knowledge, attitude, and practice on computerization of organizations, but relatively low in items such as 'The cost of operation will increase due to computerization,' 'The relationship among employees will be improved through computerization,' or 'Computerization will affect the organization's personnel policies(eg. promotion).' 4. The knowledge level differs among the employees of different types of organizations, especially in the case of health center. Statistical significance is not observed in attitude and practice, however.
