Dear colleagues, it is our privilege to introduce six accomplished professors as our new Deputy Editors. Their academic achievements and research experience will provide an irreplaceable asset to our journal and will usher in a new era for our journal to garner more respect within the cardiovascular imaging field. We are delighted that Dr. Seong Hwan Kim from Korea University Ansan Hospital, Dr. Sung Min Ko from Konkuk University Medical Center, Dr. Jae-Hyeong Park from Chungnam National University Hospital, Dr. Sung Ji Park from Samsung Medical Center (Sungkyunkwan University), Dr. Hyung-Kwan Kim from Seoul National University Hospital, and Dr. Mi Jung Kim from Incheon St. Mary's Hospital of the Catholic University of Korea our joining our team at the Journal of Cardiovascular Imaging (JCVI).
CHIEF DEPUTY EDITOR, DR. SEONG HWAN KIM

Dr. Seong Hwan Kim is an experienced editor and cardiologist who has expertise in a wide range of cardiovascular imaging areas, including anatomical and functional changes with obesity. He graduated from Korea University, School of Medicine, where he earned his PhD degree, and he completed his training at the Department of Internal Medicine at Korea University Medical Center as an intern and a resident. After passing the board certificate examination of the Korean Board of Internal Medicine, he continued his training as a fellow in the Cardiology Division at Korea University Anam Hospital and then transferred to Hallym University Sacred Heart Hospital as a clinical professor for a year. After that, he began his career as an assistant professor and an associate professor at Hallym University Hangang Sacred Heart Hospital and then joined Korea University Ansan Hospital as an associated professor. In March 2015, he became a full-time professor at Korea University, School of Medicine and is now working as a visiting professor at Stanford University Hospital since 2017. Given his additional interest in other therapeutic areas, he has served as a reviewer for many international journals, including Heart, Diabetes Care, International Journal of Cardiology, Journal of Hypertension, American Journal of Hypertension, American Journal of Cardiology, Cardiovascular Diabetologia, Circulation Journal, Journal of Diabetes, and Clinical Cardiology, among others. He has more than 60 SCI(E) scientific publications to his credit and has written two book chapters. He has presented more than 100 papers at national and international meetings and has delivered numerous invited international and national lectures. He has participated in many research projects with grant support and has been serving as an active officer or a committee member of KAIM, KSC, KSE, KSH, and KSSM.
He will serve the JCVI as Chief Deputy Editor. His proven expertise as a researcher and a physician will be a valuable asset to our journal, and we are pleased to have him join our staff.
DEPUTY EDITOR, DR. SUNG MIN KO

Dr. Sung Min Ko is an awardee of the Outstanding Scholarly Contribution Award and the Best Scientific Professor Award and is a radiologist with expertise in cardiovascular imaging. He graduated from Yonsei University Wonju College of Medicine in 1994, where he earned his MD degree. He received his PhD degree at Chungnam National University in 2010. He completed his internship, residency and fellowship training at the Department of Radiology at Wonju Severance Christian Hospital. He continued his fellowship in cardiothoracic radiology at Asan Medical Center in 2003. In March 2004, Dr. Sung Min Ko became a member of the Department of Radiology at Keimyung University Dongsan Medical Center as a full-time instructor. In September 2007, he transferred to the Department of Radiology at Konkuk University Medical Center as an assistant professor. Dr. Sung Min Ko became a full-time professor in September 2016. He has more than 40 scientific SCI(E) publications as the lead author to his credit and has won the Outstanding Scholarly Contribution Award from the Korean Society of Cardiovascular Imaging in 2012 as well as the Best Scientific Professor from Konkuk University Medical Center in 2012. He joined the department of Radiology of Emory University hospital, Atlanta, Georgia, USA, as a visiting research scholar between September 2014 and August 2015. He has been invited to many international and regional lectures.
He will serve the JCVI as a Deputy Editor. Given his accomplishments and experience, we are sure that his expertise will play an important role in advancing the prestige of our journal. We are excited to have him as one of our Deputy Editors at JCVI.
DEPUTY EDITOR, DR. JAE-HYEONG PARK

Dr. Jae-Hyeong Park is an expert cardiologist specializing in echocardiography along with critical care medicine. He graduated from Chonbuk National University, School of Medicine in 1997. He earned his MD degree at Chonbuk National University and his PhD degree at Ulsan University. He completed his internship, residency and fellowship training at the Department of Internal Medicine at Asan Medical Center in Seoul. In February 2004, he joined the Department of Cardiology at Chonbuk National University Hospital as a clinical instructor. In March 2005, he transferred to Chungnam National University Hospital as an assistant professor in 2008. Dr. Jae-Hyeong Park became a full-time professor in April 2015. He has published more than 60 scientific SCI(E) publications as a leading author to his credit and has helped write chapters for four scientific text books.
Dr. Jae-Hyeong Park won the Best Paper Award from the Korean Society of Echocardiography three separate times and from the Korean Society of Circulation exactly once. He has been invited to several international and regional lectures for many scientific meetings. His numerous scientific publications, presentations, and awards in both national and international settings demonstrate his ceaseless efforts and enthusiasm for cardiology research. We are more than sure that his experience and accomplishments will be a major asset to our journal. It is therefore our great pleasure to welcome him as one of our new Deputy Editors.
DEPUTY EDITOR, DR. SUNG-JI PARK

Dr. Sung-Ji Park is a director of cardiovascular imaging center of Samsung Medical Center and a cardiologist specializing in echocardiography, women's cardiovascular disease and valvular heart diseases. She graduated and earned MD her degree from Gyengsang National University School of Medicine in February 1997. She also completed her training at the Department of Internal Medicine at Gyengsang National University as an intern, resident and fellow until she became a certified member of the Korean Board of Internal Medicine. She earned her PhD degree during her fellowship training in February 2003. In March 2004, she joined the Division of Cardiology at Gyengsang National University as an assistant professor. She then received extensive training at the Echocardiography laboratory, Women's Heart Clinic, and Valvular Heart Clinic of Mayo Clinic, Rochester, Minnesota, USA, as a visiting research scholar between August 2006 and July 2008. In February 2009, she joined Samsung Medical Center as an assistant professor. In 2011, she became an associate professor at the Division of Cardiology, Department of Internal Medicine at Samsung Medical Center, Sungkyunkwan University College of Medicine. In April 2017, she was appointed a full professor at the same institution. As of April, 2018, she has published more than 84 SCI(E) researches, including 47 scientific SCI(E) publications as a primary or corresponding author. She has been a reviewer for various journals, including the Korean Circulation Journal, European Heart Journal Cardiovascular Imaging, and Journal of the American Society of Echocardiography. She has been widely recognized by various medical organizations both locally and internationally, and has been invited to many international and regional lectures. Her numerous scientific publications and presentations in both national and international settings are indicative of her academic achievements and enthusiasm for cardiology research.
She will serve the JCVI as a Deputy Editor. Her experience and accomplishments will be a great asset to our journal. As such, it is our great pleasure and privilege to have her as one of our Deputy Editors at JCVI.
DEPUTY EDITOR, DR. HYUNG-KWAN KIM

Dr. Hyung-Kwan Kim is a cardiologist with extensive publications, including more than 110 SCI(E) studies, and has been the winner of various prizes such as the Yuhan Medical science award and Young Investigator Awards, all coming from prestigious medical organizations. He graduated from Seoul National University, School of Medicine in February 1998, where he earned his MD degree. He continued his training at the Department of Internal Medicine, Seoul National University Hospital as an intern and a resident, and became a certified member of the Korean Board of Internal Medicine. After 39 months of military service as a medical officer, he returned to Seoul National University Hospital to complete his fellowship training in the Division of Cardiology. After earning his PhD degree during this fellowship period in February 2008, he became a faculty member of the Division of Cardiology in 2008 and now serves as a director of the cardiac diagnostic test unit at Seoul National University Hospital. In 2014, he became an associate professor at the Division of Cardiology, Department of Internal Medicine at Seoul National University Hospital. As of April 2018, he has published more than 110 SCI(E) studies, including 48 scientific SCI(E) publications as a primary or corresponding author, and has also published 30 non-SCI(E) papers in local journals. He wrote a Chapter entitled “Left Ventricular Systolic Function,” which appeared in the 2nd Edition of The EACVI Textbook of Echocardiography, published by the European Society of Cardiovascular Imaging. He won the Young Investigator Award at the Korean Society of Circulation Congress in 2005, the highest prize for the 39th Yuhan Medical Science Award in April 2006, the Young Investigator Award at SNUH, and the second highest prize (Shim Oh-Seop Award) at SNUH in November 2011. He is an experienced Editorial Board Member of the Journal of the American Society of Echocardiography, serving between 2009 and 2012. He was invited to the Cardiac Diagnostic Test Unit of Duke Medical Center, North Carolina, USA, as a visiting research scholar between August 2014 and February 2016. He is now serving the Korean Circulation Journal, an official journal of the Korean Society of Cardiology, as a representative editorial member for cardiovascular imaging. He also has been invited to many international and regional lectures.
He will serve the JCVI as a new Deputy Editor. Considering his expertise and achievements illustrated above, we are confident that he will contribute significantly in leading JCVI in its path toward becoming a more respected journal with considerable authority. It is therefore our great privilege and pleasure to appoint him as one of the Deputy Editors at JCVI.
DEPUTY EDITOR, DR. MI-JEONG KIM

Dr. Mi-Jeong Kim is a cardiologist with much experience and expertise in echocardiography. She graduated from the Catholic University of Korea, School of Medicine in February 1999, where she earned her MD degree. She also completed her internship and residency at the Department of Internal Medicine at Seoul St. Mary's Hospital of Catholic Medical Center of Korea and a three-year cardiology fellowship training at Asan Medical Center. She eventually earned her PhD degree in 2013. Since March 2007, she has been working as a faculty member of the Division of Cardiology at Incheon St. Mary's Hospital of the Catholic University of Korea. In 2014, she became an associate professor at the Division of Cardiology, Department of Internal Medicine of the Catholic University of Korea. She is a regular member of the Korean Society of Cardiology, the Korean Society of Echocardiography, Korean Society of Heart failure, and Korean Society of Hypertension. She has published more than 30 SCI(E) and non-SCI(E) publications as a primary author.
She will serve the JCVI as a Deputy Editor. The experience and insight she has built up through her academic activities and involvement in medical associations will be a great asset to our journal. It is therefore our privilege and pleasure to have her join as one of our Deputy Editors at JCVI.
