Cho: Electronic publication of research results
Restorative Dentistry & Endodontics (RDE, www.rde.ac) re-opened its journal homepage with new design and items on March 20, 2012. In addition to the general information regarding the journal, this website provides Full text articles of Current Issue and Archives, article search engine, a link to e-submission, and links of related sites. When submitting a new manuscript, you can find the author's guide and a link to the e-submission site in the left column menu, 'For Contributors'.
The current issue menu of the RDE site is linked to the articles of the newest issue, including editorials, review articles, research articles and case reports. Each article can be accessed free in HTML (XML) & PDF format. Figures & Tables in high resolution images, Cited article search, and Citation tracking of the articles cited by Synapse/CrossRef and KoMCI are also available. Using the thumb nail sized icons under each cited articles in the References, you can move to the articles at the website of PubMed and CrossRef. Archives can be accessed through the journal website (Archive icon) and Synapse (RDE on Synapse icon). Using the RDE search icon, you can search the articles published since 2010. The articles published from 1975 to 2009 can be searched and downloaded from the old website (www.jkacd.org) and www.riss4u.net. Full-text articles of the journals registered in the KoreaMed and Synapse can also be searched and downloaded in pdf format using the related site icons.
The journal will publish all articles in English from the next issue, the 3rd issue of Volume 37 in August 2012. In order to maximize the availability of the RDE articles, the journal will supply 'New Issue Alert' as an eToC (electronic Table of Contents) within a week of publication. Through the eToC, all the readers and members can download the pdf files of the articles included in the current issue. The paper journal will be published in a limited number and will be sent to institutes and libraries. For individual readers, the paper journal will be replaced by the New Issue Alert containing the eToC.
The journal has constructed an infra-structure to support the communications of research works among the researchers all over the world. With these changes, we hope to contribute and support the research, education and clinical services in the field of Restorative Dentistry and Endodontics. Please join our efforts by submitting your e-mail address to kacd@kacd.or.kr (for Koreans) or editor@rde.ac (for foreigners) to subscribe to our journal. We will add the address in the mailing list and send the eToC.
