Kim: Vaginal injury from a high-pressure water jet in a prepubescent girl

Abstract

Vaginal injuries due to high-pressure water jet have been associated with water-sports. Most of the cases reported in the literature have occurred in adults. I report a case of paediatric girl who experienced a vaginal injury with blood loss after sitting atop a water jet at fountain park. To the best of my knowledge, this is the first report of water jet douche injury in fountain park experienced by a prepubescent girl, not associated with water-sports. It is important for medical personnel to be aware that vaginal injury results from high pressure water jet.
