Abstract
We analyzed eighty-four fractures of femoral neck treated with surgery and followed over 9 months at Ewha Womans University Hospita] from April 1983 to Febrary 1990. Of these, foully-four patients were treated with internal fixation (multiple pinning or compression hip screw). Thirty-three patients with primary endoprosthesis or bipalar endoprosthesis. eight Patients with total hip replacement arthrophasty. We analyzed clinlcally the postoperative results of the treatment group in asepect of age of patients, degrees of osteoposis and type of the fracture.
Following results were obtained.
1. In our serles, the hlghest incidence age was 7th decade.
2. The most common cause was slip down.
3. The common fracture types were transcervical anatomically, stage III in Gardens classification, type II in Pauwels classification.
4. According to the analysis of result, in the patient above 65-year old with osteoporosis and in case of the fracture type of subcapital, stage IV in Gardens classification, type III in Pauwels classication, the endoprosthesis or total hip replacement arthroplasty in surgical treatment resulted in satisfaction.
