Abstract
The management of supracondylar and interconylar fractures of the femur is fraught with a wide range of potential complications. Particularly, the type C3 fracture of AO classincation easily result in catastrophe in the form of traumatic arthritis, angular deformity, shortening, infection, post-
operative joint stiffness and nonunion. During recent years. new concept and techniques of surgical treatment has been developed which permit more accurate anatomical reduction and stable internal fixation. We reports five cases of type C3 supra-interconylar fractures of the femur managed by modiHed extensile approach technique of Schatzker.
