Abstract
Percutaneous ureteral dilatation was done with balloon catheter and ureteral stent. A 40 year old woman had apelvic surgery due to inflammatory cyst and this surgery was complicated by incidental cutting of right ureter andureteroureteral anastomosis was done. After 1 month, she was suffered from severe right flank pain, nausea andvomiting, and showed delalyed visualization of pelvocalyceal system with dilatation in intraveneous pyelography.Percutaneous nephrostomy was done and complete obstruction at lower ureter was seen in antegrade pyelography. 4mmballoon catheter was introduced through the nephrostomy tract and dilatation was done with a pressure of 5 atm.for 1 minute duration for 4 times and 7F double J ureteral stent ws left across the lesions for prevention ofrestenosis. Ureteral stent was removed after 2 months, and successful dilatation was seen and no evidence ofrestenosis in 5 weaks follow up.
