Abstract
Urinary tract infection in children is common and recurent especially combined with anatomical and functionalabnormalities. Radiological analysis of the 68 cases of urinary tract infection who were admitted to the pediatricdepartment of Yong Dong severance Hospital from Apr. 1983 to Aug. 1985 were subjected in this study. The resultswere as follows: 1. Urinary tract infection was more common in male under 1 year of age, but increasing with agemore prevalent tendency in female. 2. Clinical manifestations on admission were fever, urinary frequency, flankpain, gross hematuria and etc. 3. Urinalysis disclosed pyuria in 60%, hematuria in 47%, and bacteriuria in 7%.Escherichia coli was the most common strain and klebsiella species, Enterococcus, Proteus species were common indescending order. 4. In the radiologic findings, the patients of refluxed cases showed more changes in the size ofkidney and damage of renal parenchyme. And also they were more combined with anatomical abnormalities. 5. VCUGfindings according to the grade of reflux showed more extensive changes of kidney itself, ureter and bladder withincreasing of the grade of VUR. 6. Over 6 months follow-up, the initial scarring were aggrevated and getting worsealthough treatment.
