Abstract
Total 87 cases of children's glomerulonephritides confirmed by renal biopsy and immunoelectron microscopy were analysed with densitometer and other radiologic methods. The results were as follows; 1. In the total 87 cases of children's glomerulonephritieds, APSGN is the most prevalent disease. MSPGN, pupura nephritis, MLNS were followed in descending orders. 2. They were more in male children(M:F=2.3:1) 3. The size, width and cortical thickness of kidney were apt to be increased before the age of 10 years, but not helpful after the age of 10. 4. Radiologic findings and densitometry findings; a. APSGN; Pulmonary congestion or congestive heart failure findings were found in 69% in plain chest film, and decreased excretory function in densitometry even though no morphologic abnormality in IVP. b. MSPGN; Renal enlargement and cortical scallopings were main findings in IVP study. Excretory function is slight decreased in densitometry only. Pulmonary congestion was not evident. c. Purpuranephritis; Normal renal size and shape in IVP and plain film except marked decreased excretory function measured by densitometer. d. MLNS; Irregular cortical margins and marked decreased renal function with enlarged kidney in IVP study with pulmonary congestion. Associated ascetic pattern was found in 3 cases.
