Choe: Announcement of New Section Editors
Dear colleagues,
We are pleased to announce our new section editors: new cardiovascular imaging section editor, Dr. Eun-Ah Park from Seoul National University Hospital; new gastrointestinal imaging section editors, Dr. Jin-Young Choi from Severance Hospital (Yonsei University) and Dr. Min Ju Kim from Korea University Anam Hospital; new interventional radiology section editors, Dr. Dong Il Gwon from Asan Medical Center (Ulsan University) and Dr. Hyo-Cheol Kim from Seoul National University Hospital; and new musculoskeletal imaging section editor, Dr. Jung-Ah Choi from Hallym University Dongtan Sacred Heart Hospital.

New Cardiovascular Imaging Section Editor, Dr. Eun-Ah Park

Dr. Eun-Ah Park graduated from Seoul National University, School of Medicine in 2000, where she earned both her MD and PhD degrees. She went on to complete her one-year internship and four-year residency training at the Department of Radiology at SNUH. She immediately established herself by receiving the highest scores in the board certificate examination of the Korean Board of Radiology, after which she spent one year as a fellow in cardiothoracic radiology at SNUH. In February 2008, Dr. Eun-Ah Park became a member of the Department of Radiology at SNUH as a clinical instructor. In April 2015, she became an associate professor at the Department of Radiology at SNUH. She has more than 40 scientific SCI(E) publications as the lead author to her credit, and she has twice won the Outstanding Scholarly Contribution Award from the Korean Society of Cardiovascular Imaging as well as the Best Paper Award from the Korean Society of Radiology. She has been invited to many international and regional lectures. Her numerous scientific publications, presentations, and awards in both national and international settings demonstrate her ceaseless efforts and enthusiasm for radiologic research. It is therefore our great pleasure to welcome her as our new editor.

New Gastrointestinal Imaging Section Editor, Dr. Jin-Young Choi

Dr. Jin-Young Choi graduated from Yonsei University College of Medicine and earned his MD degree in 1996. After an internship at Severance Hospital, he completed residency training in radiology at Severance Hospital and became a certified member of the Korean Board of Radiology. He subsequently spent one year of his fellowship training in abdominal radiology at the same institution. Upon completion of training in February of 2005, he worked as a clinical instructor at the Department of Radiology of Seoul National University Hospital. He became an assistant professor in the Department of Radiology at Severance Hospital in 2007. Since March 2016, he has been a professor in the Department of Radiology at Severance Hospital. He has been an outstanding reviewer for several journals, including the Korean Journal of Radiology, and European Radiology. He has more than 100 scientific publications to his credit, as well as 10 book chapters. His list of scientific presentations at national and regional meetings since 2004 demonstrates his sustained efforts in radiological research. In addition, he has delivered many invited international and regional lectures, and has participated in several research projects that received grant support.

New Gastrointestinal Imaging Section Editor, Dr. Min Ju Kim

Dr. Min Ju Kim graduated from Ewha Womans University, School of Medicine in 1996. After completing her internship at Samsung Medical Center (SMC), she received residency training in Department of Radiology, SMC, Sungkyunkwan University School of Medicine. She spent two years as a fellow in the same institution as a trained abdominal radiology specialist. After that, she became a clinical instructor at the Department of Radiology, Samsung Medical Center from 2004 to 2007. She was promoted to be an Assistant Professor in September 2007. She then worked as an Associate Professor at Department of Radiology, Anam Hospital, Korea University School of Medicine. Since September 2016, she has been a professor at the same institution. She has been known as an excellent reviewer of various radiology journals including the Korea Journal of Radiology, Journal of Magnetic Resonance Imaging, and Abdominal Radiology. She has more than 100 scientific publications including 84 SCI (E) publications and 5 book chapters. She has presented many lectures and posters at both international and national conferences.

New Interventional Radiology Section Editor, Dr. Dong Il Gwon

Dr. Dong Il Gwon graduated from Kosin University, School of Medicine. He then earned his MD degree in 1997 from the same university. After an internship at St. Paul Hospital, he pursued residency training in radiology at St. Paul Hospital. Dr. Gwon is certified in Diagnostic Radiology by the Korean Board of Radiology. He subsequently spent one year in his fellowship training in interventional radiology at the Asan Medical Center, Ulsan University, College of Medicine. On completion of that training in March of 2002, he became a member of the Department of Radiology at Seoul Paik Hospital, Inje University, initially as a clinical instructor. In March of 2007, he moved to Asan Medical Center as a clinical assistant and later as an associate professor. Since March 2018, he has been a professor at the Department of Radiology at Asan Medical Center, Ulsan University, College of Medicine. He has more than 110 scientific SCI(E) publications to his credit and has been invited to and delivered many international and regional lectures. He has also participated in many research projects that have received grant support.

New Interventional Radiology Section Editor, Dr. Hyo-Cheol Kim

Dr. Hyo-Cheol Kim graduated from Seoul National University, School of Medicine. Dr. Kim completed his residency in diagnostic radiology at the Seoul National University Hospital (1999–2003) and is board-certified in radiology. In 2008, he completed his fellowship training in interventional radiology at the Seoul National University Hospital, where he has been a faculty member of interventional radiology since then. Dr. Kim has published 85 articles in various peer-reviewed journals, including Nature Communications, Radiology, and JVIR, as a first or corresponding author. He was appointed as an Associate Editor of JVIR in Jan 2018. Dr. Kim's clinical interests include chemoembolization and radioembolization for hepatocellular carcinoma. He has conducted animal studies focused on intra-arterial therapy in a rat model of liver tumor.

New Musculoskeletal Imaging Section Editor, Dr. Jung-Ah Choi

Dr. Jung-Ah Choi has studied at Harvard College with a concentration in Biology. She graduated summa cum laude from Korea University, School of Medicine. She received her PhD in Diagnostic Radiology from Korea University Graduate School. After her radiology residency training at Korea University Guro Hospital, she spent two years as a fellow in Musculoskeletal Imaging at Seoul National University Hospital. After that, she worked as an instructor, assistant professor, and associate professor of Radiology at Seoul National University Bundang Hospital. She spent one year as a visiting professor at Stanford University Hospital in Biomechanics Lab under the mentorship of Prof. Garry E Gold and has worked at Hallym University Dongtan Sacred Heart Hospital as Associate Professor and Department Head of Radiology since July 2014. She has served as a reviewer for Korean Journal of Radiology, IMRI, European Radiology, Radiographics, Skeletal Radiology, and Acta Radiologica. She has more than 100 scientific publications to her credit and 3 book chapters. She has presented more than 110 papers at national and international meetings and delivered numerous invited international and national lectures. She has participated in many research projects with grant support. She has been serving as an active officer or committee member of RSNA, ISS, AMS, ISMRM, KSR, KSMR, KSUM, and KSMRM.
