The Publication and Editorial Service Committee of the Korean Surgical Society and the Editorial Board of Annals of Surgical Treatment and Research retract the publication of the above three articles that were previously published in Journal of the Korean Surgical Society (the journal name was changed to Annals of Surgical Treatment and Research in 2014). Each article is similar to the following article published in another journal.

Although there were no clear guidelines regarding the submission of similar articles prior to the release of the 2007 guidelines by National Research Foundation of Korea, it is not in line with current publishing ethics. Therefore, with approval from the Publication and Editorial Service Committee of the Korean Surgical Society, the Editorial Board of Annals of Surgical Treatment and Research retracts the publication of these articles and deeply apologizes for any inconvenience this may have caused to our readers.
