Abstract
The incidence of herniated nucleus pulposus in children and adolescent is less than 2.5 % of overall herniated nucleus pulposus patient and 3.7% of back pain child, and only rarely is accompanied by fracture or seperation of the vertebral end plate. Most of the fracture or seperation of the vertebral end plate occurs in second decade and there is no report in first decade. The authors have experienced a case of herniated nucleus pulposus caused by seperation of the vertebral end plate in 9 years old girl.
