Hahn, Kim, and Min: Surgical Treatment for Adduction Contracture of Hip in Spastic Cerebral Palsy

Abstract

Adduction deformity of hip is the most common hip deformity in spastic type of cerebral palsy. Authors have analysed 90 patients(175 operation) who had been operated with adductor tenohomy with or without obturator neurectomy and report the results of these procedure performed at Sam Yook Rehabilitation center from January 1985 to December 1989. The following results were obtained: l. Adductor tenotomy with or without obturator neurectomy uniformly gave satisfactory results. 2. Adequate postoperative management, patient's mentality and age were major factors in the result.
