We developed medical information management and transmission system in the hospital environment, specially from department of radiology and department of clinical laboratory to clinical ward. The purpose of this system is immediate and rapid transmission of medical information to clinical ward. This medical information includes several kinds of medical images (radiographic images, ultrasonic images, MRI images, CT images) and two kinds of clinical laboratory test results (chemistry test results, blood test results). This system is based on the Ethernet already installed in Seoul National University Hospital, and connected into RIS (Radiological Information System) and LIS (Laboratory Information System) to access the diagnostic reports and laboratory test results. This system includes image acquisition workstation, clinical workstation, and analyser workstation. This system has been designed by multi-level window structure for user friendly interface.
