The first object sent from Earth, Voyager 1 was launched in September 1977, is faraway unknown outside the solar system in 2012.
Unmanned satellites launched to the exploration of Jupiter, and Saturn is steadily and silently moving toward the unknown world of faraway. By quietly going forth, we could see outside our solar system, and his travel is expected to continue until 2025.
In 1967, Journal of Korean Academy of Oral Health (JKAOH) was launched and published a lot of academic achievements of the researchers. Meantime, more than the total of 1,100 papers have been published, and present in a variety of fields, including prevention & treatment of oral diseases, public health dentistry, oral epidemiology, oral health policy, etc. These achievements will be able to assume as a result of a first place impact factor in the dentistry journals in Korea.
JKAOH constantly challenged in this situation, for example, improved the format of the journal, KoreaMed registration, participation to Synapse.
Through these serial changes, I thought that a lot of people shared the results of the study published in the JKAOH and promote oral health.
On the other hand, it is also needed to be more emphasis to the responsibility of the researchers in this changing environment. Because paper published in JKAOH now is no longer the study in the bookcase, and more people have a chance to share it more easily than ever before. So the people that carried out the study is due to be held responsible for their study. I think that these changes will have a positive impact upon the research.
Like Voyager exploring a mysterious world, and silently moving forward, results in the continued walking of JKAOH are already expecting.
