<abstract>
<p>We report a rare case of acute acalculous cholecystitis (ACC) caused by Salmonella enteritidis infection in a previously healthy 9-year-old boy. Salmonella enteritidis was isolated from stool and bile culture. The diagnosis of ACC was established upon clinical, laboratory, and ultrasonographic findings. The patient was successfully treated using percutaneous transhepaticcholecystic drainage (PTCCD) in combination with antibiotics therapy.</p>
