FOUND: Morbidity Classified According to Age, Sex and Month: at Severance Hospital during 1933
During the whole of 1933 a card was filled out for each patient attending the out-patient and in-patient service of the Severance Hospital in Seoul, Korea. These cards were sent to Shanghai and charts were made giving the above information in tabulated form. Final reports were made showing the age sex distribution throughout the whole year. The record for the whole year is printed to supplement my previous report on "Morbidity among Koreans in the Seoul Area." In addition, monthly reports have been used to give the distribution of the common types of diseases during each month of the year as suggested by Dr. Mizushima of the Keijo Imperial University. The compilation was done under the control of Dr. Gear of the Lester Research Institute, Shanghai.
The Seoul (Keijo) meteorological station reports the following mean temperatures for 1933 as follows:
Jan. -7.0 Feb. -3.0 Mar. -0.9 Apr. 10.9
May 17.1 June 21.4 July 26.4 Aug. 24.8
Sep. 20.7 Oct. 13.5 Nov. 11.5 Dec. -5.0
The twenty-year average figures for the same station are as follows:
Jan. -4.6 Feb. -2.0 Mar. 3.2 Apr. 10.7
May 16.1 June 21.2 July 24.6 Aug. 25.5
Sep. 20.0 Oct. 13.1 Nov. 5.1 Dec. -2.1
These figures [Fig. 1, 2], [Table 1, 2] are given to correct the impression given by the figures in my previous paper. See Volume I, 1933, The Journal of Severance Union Medical College.
